How to Install Bucket Explorer/Team Edition 2.0

1 ˆ MS Windows

  1. You can download Bucket Explorer from http://www.bucketexplorer.com/be-download.html .
  2. You have major three choices provided to download Bucket Explorer according to 64- bit and 32- bit MS Windows Environment.
    • 32/64 bit Zip Version With JRE.
    • 32/64 bit Zip Version Without JRE.
    • 32 bit Windows Installer
  3. If you have not java installed on your system then we recommended you to install Zip version with JRE.
  4. Click on download as per your requirement, from the section provided for Bucket Explorer on Windows Environment.
  5. Read end user agreement and ( if agree ) select download located down the page, right side or top middle.
  6. If you have downloaded 32 bit Windows Installer-
    • Double click on application icon ( e.g. Bucket-Explorer-setup-2009.10.xx.xx).
    • A wizard appears, simply follow steps.
    • On Welcome screen, click Next.
    • On next screen select an option from i. Install for anyone using this computer [1] ii. Install just for me [2] iii. Portable install [3]
    • Check license agreement and click Next.
    • Choose location where you want to install Bucket Explorer.
    • On completing Bucket Explorer setup click Finish button to close wizard.
    • If you select " All users" or " Only for me" , Bucket Explorer is installed on your machine at Start --> Program files --> Bucket Explorer --> Bucket Explorer Web Site, Uninstall
    • Note: [ If you select portable then it will be extracted only at specified location . ]
  7. If you Downloaded 32/64 bit Zip Version With JRE.
    Extract the Zip folder and it is ready to use. You will find a Embedded JRE with executable of Bucket Explorer. If you have no java installed on your system then you can download Bucket Explorer with JRE.
  8. If you Downloaded 32/64 bit Zip Version Without JRE.
    Extract the Zip folder and it is ready to use. Here you will find a Bucket Explorer Executable

2 ˆ Macintosh Operating System

  1. Download bucketexplorer zip version from http://www.bucketexplorer.com/be-download.html
  2. Click on download from section Download for Bucket Explorer on Mac OS X Environment .
  3. Read end user agreement and (if agree) select download located down the page, right side or top middle.
  4. Save file to your hard disk. Download takes time depends upon your speed of internet connection.
  5. Extract the zipped file.
  6. Run BucketExplorer.App by double click on Bucket Explorer application icon.

3 ˆ Linux Operating system

  1. Download bucketexplorer.tar.gz from http://www.bucketexplorer.com/be-download.html
  2. Click on download from section Download for Bucket Explorer on Linux Environment.
  3. Read end user agreement and (if agree) select download located down the page, right side or top middle.
  4. Run or Save file to your hard disk. Download takes time depends upon your speed of internet connection.
  5. Extract BucketExplorer200910xxxx.tar.gz
  6. If Java has installed on your system then you need to run Bucket Explorer from BucketExplorer.sh
  7. If you haven't java installed on your system then you need to follow these steps before run Bucket Explorer from  BucketExplorer-jre.sh file.
    1. Follow these steps if you have not copied “jre6” to home path -
      • Download latest JRE, install it to your system and rename this folder to jre6.
      • Open BucketExplorer-jre.sh file for edit.
      • Update in place of $BucketExplorer_home with the path where jre6 installed in chkpath=" $BucketExplorer_home /jre6/bin/java" and export PATH= $BucketExplorer_home /jre6/bin:${PATH} variables.
      • Now save BucketExplorer-jre.sh file.
        OR
    2. Follow this if you have copied “jre6” to home path -
      • Copy the latest JRE from your local system to Bucket Explorer root folder & Rename it to ‘jre6’.
  8. Now Go to Applications >> Accessories >> Terminal
  9. Get into Bucket Explorer Home path.
  10. Run BucketExplorer.sh / BucketExplorer-jre.sh file.
  11. Note- Command to run sh files- sh BucketExplorer-jre.sh OR sh BucketExplorer.sh
  • ^ Install for anyone using this computer : This option installs Bucket Explorer in program files of all the users exist on user’s machine.
  • ^ Install just for me : This option installs Bucket Explorer in program files of a specified user.
  • ^ Portable install : This option installs Bucket Explorer on desktop and there will be no entry in startup. Installing as portable it can be run within any portable media like pen drive, CD etc.

Note: You can download a regular version of Bucket Explorer. When you start it, it now asks if you want to run it in Team Edition mode. You do not need a different download anymore for Team Edition 2.0.
