AWS IAM - How to Change Permissions for Groups in Bucket Explorer Team Edition?

AWS IAM allows you to create/manage Group, User and their associated Permissions. Each Group and User has specific set of permissions, which is assigned by Admin to them. A User associates with one or more Groups and a Group also associates with one or more Users. Only Admin has rights to change the permission/policy of Group and User. You can create a group and can set permissions to that group. Each group will have a set of permissions and all users added to the group will have same permissions of the group. Changing permissions of Groups makes it easy for Admin to assign same permissions to all group users without assigning to individual team member.

You can change the permissions of Groups using AWS Identity and Access Management by sending PutGroupPolicy Request, in one of the two ways explained below:

  1. Change the permissions of Groups using IAM REST API - "PutGroupPolicy" within your software code : If you are a programmer, you can write your own code to change the group using IAM REST API. You will need to write code to change permissions of group using PutGroupPolicy IAM REST API. On this website, we are referring to REST API only, refer AWS IAM documentation to get SOAP APIs.
  2. Change the permissions of Groups using Bucket Explorer : If you do not want to write code, you can easily change permissions of Groups with Bucket Explorer using some mouse clicks.
