This document explains the steps of copying S3 files and folders to another Amazon S3 account, applicable for an older version of Bucket Explorer. If you are using Bucket Explorer version 2009.10 or above, this process is not valid anymore. Please click here to see "

Copy Amazon S3 files from source bucket and paste it to target bucket in same account or in different account. If S3 files which are to be copied already exist then it will either be overwritten with new S3 files or be skipped depends on the command given by you. If you choose to overwrite then the older version of S3 files will be copied to
version folder of System Bucket
having S3 file name appended with current date and time.
If you want to copy file(s)/ folder(s) of a Bucket into another account's bucket, follow the steps below:

Start the Bucket Explorer and connect with your
Amazon S3 Account
.

Select Bucket whose files, you want to copy.

Right click on selected file(s) and Click
Copy
option.

Now open new Bucket Explorer Instance using
File->New Window
and login with another account’s keys.

Now select bucket or folder where you want to paste copied file(s).

Right click on file panel and click
Paste
option.

This will ask for queue option, select desired queue option.

Copy operation will be started in
Bucket Explorer queue
window.

Click on
Statistics
tab of queue window to see Total copied, failed and pending files.

See the list of
successfully copied/ moved/ failed and skipped
files in appropriate tab of queue window.

If any operation failed then it
retries automatically
by default 3 times.

After automatic retrying if any failed operation is still there then Retry button will be visible on
Statistics panel
, click on
retry
button to recopy the failed files.

After successful completion of copying process close the queue window.
-
You've done.
