How to create a new Amazon S3 account

To be able to use Amazon S3 services, first you need to sign up. After signing up, you obtain two keys. These keys are required to start the proceedings. Once you finish your sign up process, you need to make sure that you are the only person involved in transaction.

Follow the steps for further actions :

  1. Open page: http://aws.amazon.com/s3/?tag=bucket-20 and locate a Sign Up button towards right side of this page. Click the button and follow instructions.

    Remember : In order to be able to use Bucket Explorer you need an Amazon.com account, an AWS developer account and also need to subscribe to the Amazon S3.

  2. Based on your current subscription levels with Amazon.com, you may see different signup wizards.
  3. As soon as you finish sign up process, a welcome email will arrive in your inbox.
  4. This mail will contain the link (longer one) which will take you to ‘ AWS Access Identifiers ' [1] page.
  5. On this page, you will find Access key and Secret Key. These keys are located at right side.
  6. Your access key is visible but your secret key, which serves as a password, is hidden within + sign. You must save these keys at safe place.
  7. You need these two keys to start working with Amazon S3 Services.
  1. ˆ AWS Access Identifiers : You use access identifiers to make sure that you are the only person who has signed up with Amazon services.

  2. Normally you get the welcome email message instantly, but it may take time depending on your ISP’s traffic.

  3. Make sure you have kept your credentials safe, these are your keys to proceed and once stolen might affect billing through misuse by others.
