How to delete files and bucket?

Bucket Delete option prompts you, “ are you sure you want to delete the bucket #bucket name# “, with options for Delete and don’t delete , clicking on delete button prompts to make sure if you want to delete with three buttons for “ Move to trash ”, “ Delete permanently ”, and “ Don’t delete ”, you may keep version of deleted items in trash or may delete them permanently using appropriate option.

  • If you want to delete existing bucket, follow the steps below:
    1. Select the bucket you wish to delete.
    2. There are two options available for the deletion of Bucket(s).
      • Right click on bucket listing table and choose " Bucket delete " option.
      • Click on " Bucket " button->select " Delete " icon, located above the Bucket Listing table in tool bar.
    3. Clicking on any of the above two options prompts you for the confirmation as " Are you sure you want to delete Bucket: #Bucket name# " with two buttons for ‘ Delete ’ and ‘ Don’t Delete
    4. Click on ‘ Delete ’.
    5. If any log delivery has been set to any bucket then it will ask
      " #BucketName# may be used by Amazon for log delivery. Are you sure you want to delete it? ",
      Click on Yes or No as per your choice.

    6. If bucket is empty then it will be deleted, otherwise it will warn as “ Do you want to delete all files in bucket #BucketName# " with three options
      1. Move to trash
      2. Delete permanently
      3. Don't delete.
    7. If you click " Move to trash or Delete permanently ", deletion process will be started in queue.
    8. After completion you will see a result on statistics panel.

  • If you want to delete file(s) from bucket, follow the steps below:
    1. Select Bucket from which you want to delete file(S) and folder(S).
    2. Select the file(S) and folder(S) that you want to delete.
    3. There are two options available to delete file(S) and folder(S).
      1. Right click on object listing table and Choose " Delete " -> " Delete File(S) " option.
      2. Click File -> Delete icon from the shortcut menu on S3 files Tool bar, located above the file listing table.
    4. After clicking on any of the above two options, it will prompt a message " Are you sure to delete 2 item(S) " (If user selects 2 items) with three options
      1. Move to trash
      2. Delete permanently
      3. Don't delete.
    5. If you click " Move to trash " or “ Delete permanently “, deletion process will be started in queue.
    6. After completion you will see result on statistics panel.
