Amazon S3 - How to Report Error for Bucket Commander Operations?

Bucket Explorer provides error reporting on UI if any error occurs during execution of any type of operation. The error will be written in “Error Log” and User gets the Error dialog message box while closing the application.
This dialog has three buttons.

  1. Close
  2. Report Error
  3. Details>>
  • If you don’t want to send occurred error to the server, click on "Close" button and this will close the application.
  • If you want to send occurred error to server, click on "Report Error" button.
  • If you want to see the details for occurred error, click on "Details >>" button.

Bucket Commander also provides error reporting on commander if any error occurs during execution of any type of operation. The error will be written in 'Error Log' and user gets a message on the console unit that “The Error report has been sent successfully to Support Team” . This message confirms that the error (if occurred) has been sent successfully to the supported server.

Steps for Bucket Commander

  1. Run Bucket Explorer application.
  2. Create Commander Configuration XML using Tools -> Commander -> Edit Commander Config File option or edit Commander Configuration XML manually.
  3. Run Commander to perform the operation according to Configuration XML.
  4. If any error occurred during commander operation, error will be written in 'Error Log' and user gets a prompt message that says “The Error report has been sent successfully to Support Team” .
  5. If you do not want to have Error report on Commander, simply set <Commander_Send_Error_Report> in BucketExplorer.xml to 'false'.
  6. Errors will be written in Error log but these errors will not be reported to Support Team.
