Set default Metadata option
helps you to set default
custom header or user Metadata
for all the files of specified
Amazon S3 bucket
and to edit and remove existing default custom header/ user Metadata. Once you set default on any Bucket, it will be applied on each of the
uploading S3 files
automatically.You can also set the Storage-Class while setting the Bucket default, it will set the Storage-Class to
REDUCED_REDUNDANCY
for all the objects that will be uploaded into the same bucket.
Set default Amazon S3 Metadata on bucket
: This option is used to set the default Amazon S3 Metadata for all files and folders of Bucket, you can add and remove custom header/ user Metadata from setting, after setting default, whenever you upload any file then the defaults setting is applied on file that is being uploaded.
Edit default Amazon S3 Metadata on bucket
: This option is used to edit Bucket default setting.
Remove default Amazon S3 Metadata on bucket
: This option is used to remove Bucket default setting.
If you want to set bucket default and custom headers/ user Metadata, follow the steps below :

Start the Bucket Explorer and connect with your
Amazon S3 Account
.

Select desired bucket for which you want to set default header.

Right click on desired bucket and choose
Bucket Default
option or choose
Default
from bucket tool bar.

Click on
Set Default
.

A window for
Set Default
will be seen having three panel for setting default ACL ,Metadata and Storage Policy panel on Bucket.

In middle panel, there are two button for
Add
and
Remove
Metadata .

Click on "
Add
" to add new Default Custom Header.

Enter
Key
and
Value
.

Set the value of check box named
Use Reduced Redundancy
Storage
in lower panel
to true, if you want to set the storage class for all the objects that will be uploaded in the specified Bucket.

Click "
OK
" and then "
Save
".

You will see a
bucketexplorerbucketdefault_$bucketname$.xml
in object listing

: You can also
set Default ACLs (Permission)
on upper panel of Set Default window.
