How to update ACLs on versions?

Bucket Explorer provides a feature to update ACL on Amazon S3 version object(s). Using this feature, you can update ACL for all the version objects of bucket or selected version objects. The process of updating ACL on more than one object is performed in queue, so you can see statistics of the process . When you update ACL for single version object, the queue will not be shown.

Update Amazon S3 ACL for version objects of a bucket :

  1. Run Bucket Explorer as usual.
  2. All the buckets get listed.
  3. Now select a bucket on which you've set version.
  4. Right click on bucket and select "List All Version" option.
  5. It will list the entire version objects.
  6. Select object(s) from object list table and choose any one of the following option to update ACL-
    Click on "Batch Operation" icon -> "Update ACL" on object toolbar.
    OR
    Right click on objects & select "Update File’s Access Control List" .
    OR
    Click on "ACL(s)" button on object tool bar.
  7. It opens Update ACL window.
  8. Set permissions as per your requirement for updating Amazon S3 ACL.
  9. Click on "Update ACL" button. It starts a Queue having selected objects of the specified bucket.
  10. When the queue processes get finished, it shows the statistics report for the status of the process.

Note :

  1. You can not update the ACL on delete marked version object.
  2. You can also perform this operation using Transfer Panel
