Amazon S3 - Batch Operation on Objects

Bucket Explorer provides a feature to update ACL on Amazon S3 data in bulk. Amazon S3 allows to update ACL on single object by single request at one time. To update ACL on numbers of objects you have to perform operation manually one by one, Bucket Explorer lets you to select multiple objects and update their ACL in parallel. Using this Bucket Explorer's feature, you can update ACL for all the objects in a  bucket or for all the selected objects. The process of updating ACL is performed in queue , so you can see the  statistics of the process .

Update Amazon S3 ACL for Selected Objects:
  1. Run Bucket Explorer.
  2. All the buckets will be listed.
  3. Now select a Bucket.
  4. All the Objects in the selected Bucket will be listed.
  5. Select more than one object in the object list table on which you want to update ACL.
  6. Click on Batch Operation icon -> Update ACL in bucket toolbar.
    Right click on Update Bucket’s Access Control List .
  7. It will open  “Update ACL” window.
  8. Set permissions as per your requirement to update Amazon S3 ACL.
  9. Click on “Update ACL”.  It will start a queue with all the objects of the selected bucket.
  10. When the queue processes are finished, it will show the statistics report for the status of the processes.
