If you want to check whether or not Notifications are enabled on a Bucket, you can request the Bucket Notification Configuration on an
Amazon S3 Bucket
, by sending an HTTP GET Request to Amazon S3 Server. GET Request returns an empty NotificationConfiguration element if notifications are not enabled on the Bucket. To authenticate the request, you must be the Bucket owner or use a Bucket policy to allow other users to read the configuration.
You can send the HTTP GET Request to List Notifications in two ways:
List Amazon S3 Bucket Notifications using REST API- GET Bucket Notification
- If you can write a software program on your own, you can use S3 supported REST API in your code to list the Bucket Notifications.
List Amazon S3 Bucket Notifications using Bucket Explorer
- If you are not a programmer and prefer an easy user interface to see the Bucket Notifications using mouse clicks, you can use Bucket Explorer.
The below two sections describe the two methods of listing Bucket Notifications:
List S3 Bucket Notification using Amazon REST API- GET Bucket Notification
To get a list of notification configuration of a Bucket, you can request GET Bucket Notification. For that, you need to use only Request headers that are common to all operations.
GET /?notification HTTP/1.1
List S3 Bucket Notification using Bucket Explorer
You can use Bucket Explorer's UI to List Notifications on S3 Bucket without writing a single line of code, simply using point and click.
Steps to list notifications on S3 Bucket:
Select any S3 Bucket on which you want to list notification.
Right click on the selected Bucket and choose
A panel will open with the details of notifications that have been set for the selected S3 Bucket.
If no notification has been set, you will get a message "There is no notification set for the Bucket".
