Bulk delete: How to delete large number of files from an Amazon S3 Bucket?

Quick delete feature is provided you to completely delete the Bucket/file(s) from S3 without saving anything in Trash of system bucket . This features is refind with Amazon S3 Multi-Object Delete . So now Quick Delete is 100 time faster than earlier quick delete. It will delete in the batch of 1000 objects in single request. Experience faster delete using Bucket Explorer's Quick Delete option.

Amazon S3 Bucket Delete: If you want to delete bucket(s) permanently without saving anything in Trash bucket, follow the steps below:
  1. Start the Bucket Explorer and connect with your Amazon S3 Account .
  2. Select the bucket you want to delete.
  3. Click on drop down button " Advanced " and select " Quick Delete " or you can Right click on Bucket to choose Bucket Delete -> Quick Delete option.
  4. If bucket which you are deleting is distributed bucket then it will ask “You have created a distribution on this bucket, are you sure you want to delete the bucket #BucketName#”.
  5. If selected bucket is destination bucket to delivers log files, if Amazon S3 versioning is enabled then you will be notified on deleting it.
  6. On confirming all notification (if any) it prompts a message "Quick Delete 1.Nothing is saved in audit report. 2.Everything gets deleted permanently,won't move in trash. 3.Quick delete operation is using Amazon S3 Multi-Object Delete API. Are you sure,you want to delete the bucket: #BucketName#” with "Delete" and "Don't delete" buttons.
  7. If you click on "Delete", it shows a process bar showing "Preparing listing for delete", in a box with "Cancel listing" button.
    Note : > If you click Cancel listing Button, it will stop listing process.
  8. After completion of listing, it starts deleting files and also show "Cancel delete" button.
  9. On completion of deletion process, you will find a button named " Save result to file ". It will save delete history to CSV file at temporary path.

Delete Amazon S3 Files/Folders :

To delete bucket’s Files/Folders permanently without saving anything in system bucket, follow the steps below:
  1. Start the Bucket Explorer and connect with your Amazon S3 Account.
  2. Select the file(s)/folder(s) to be deleted.
  3. Click on drop down button Advanced -> Quick delete from object toolbar or you can right click on Files/folders to select " Delete File" -> "Quick delete ".
  4. It prompts a message "Quick Delete 1.Nothing is saved in audit report. 2.Everything gets deleted permanently,won't move in trash. 3.Quick delete operation is using Amazon S3 Multi-Object Delete API. Are you sure you want to delete #No. of files/folders# item(s)” with "Delete" and "Don't delete" options.
  5. If you click on "Delete", it shows a process bar showing "Preparing listing for delete" in a box with "Cancel listing" button.
    Note : If you click Cancel listing Button, it will stop listing process.
  6. After completion of listing, it starts deleting files/folders and also show "Cancel delete" button.
  7. On completion of deletion process, you will find a button named " Save result to file ". It will save delete history to CSV file at temporary path.
