Right Click Options on Amazon S3 Objects

1.Upload File(s)….:- This menu item will prompt you to a dialog box to select files or folders which you want to upload ,

2. Download Object(s)…. :- This menu item will prompt you to a dialog box where you can choose the target directory where you want to store the file/folder,

If the objects being downloaded were stored in a directory structure (e.g; if you uploaded a directory containing other directories and files) that directory structure will be re-created in the target location.

3. Delete Object(s):-This option is used for deleting the selected objects, after prompting a confirmation message.

3. Refresh Object Listing:-This option is used to refresh the listing of objects in a selected bucket.

4. Update Object's Access Control List…:-This option is used for showing and updating the ACL (Access Control List). A dialog box ‘ACL Prefrences' will appear.

To grant/deny permission for particular user simply check-uncheck corresponding checkbox with associated permission. After set permission click on save to save the changed permissions.

A button in the dialog box ‘Add access by Email-ID/ID' is used to grant permission to an Amazon user through his/her email ID. If a user has an ID provided by Amazon, he/ she can use this Id in place of the email ID. With this permission an object can be accessed by that user.

Remove User: By using this all permissions including the user Id can be removed from the list and the user will be denied with all the permissions.

5.Generate Web URL :- If one wants to generate URLs of the seleced S3 objects , this option helps by showing a window that shows URLs for selected objects.

‘HTTP URL' button is used for getting urls in http:// format.

‘HTTPS URL' button is used for getting urls in https:// format.

‘Torrent URL' button generates a URL that points to a BitTorrent file, allowing the object to be downloaded with a BitTorrent client application.

‘Signed URL' button generates a URL which is valid for a specific period of time .

To specify that period of time , an option “expire After” can be used .

Use Bucket Name as Virtual Host :-This option is used for bucket name as a virtual host.

For eg:-http://mybucket/image1.jpg, here mybucket is bucket name and image1.jpg is key.

The Copy All and Copy is used for Copy the selected Urls from text box.

Properties :-

This option displays the meta information like object name, creation date, modified date, content type, content length, Bucket name, request-id etc.about a selected object.
