Right Click Options on Amazon S3 Objects

  1. Create New Folder:

    2. This option allows you to create virtual folder in your S3 bucket.

  2. Show Versions:

    3. This options allows you to view versions of s3 objects if versioning is set on s3 bucket.

  3. Delete File:

    • Delete:

      • This option prompts are you sure you want to delete 1 item with three buttons Move to trash, Delete permanently and don’t delete. Move to trash option moves the deleted item in trash folder of system bucket, Delete permanently option deletes the item permanently and does not keep its version in trash bucket.

    • Quick Delete:

      • This option prompts are you sure you want to delete 1 item with options for Delete and don’t delete, clicking on delete button deletes item permanently and no history of deletion is saved anywhere.

  4. Refresh Object Listing:

    5. This option is used to refresh the listing of objects in a selected bucket.

  5. Upload/ Download:

    • Upload files:

      • This menu item will prompt you a dialog box to select files or folders which you want to upload.

    • Download files:

      • This menu item will start downloading selected File(S)/ Folder(S) on specified location, process will be in queue.

  6. Add to Queue :

    This option is used to add selected object in queue.

    • Upload queue:

      • This option prompts you a dialog box to select local files or folders which you want to add in upload queue.

    • Download queue:

      • This option prompts you a dialog box to select location where you want to download selected item(S) and after selecting location the items are added in queue.

    • Delete queue:

      • This option prompts Are you sure you want to delete 1 item with three buttons Move to trash, Delete permanently and don’t delete.

  7. Copy, Move and Rename:

    • Copy:

      • This option allows you to copy selected File(s) and folder to other location on S3. After clicking on copy it opens transfer panel from where you can select copy file(s) & folder(s) to other location.

    • Move:

      • This option allows you to move selected File(s) and folder(s) from source to other location on S3. After clicking on move it opens transfer panel from where you can move file(s) & folder(s) to other location

    • Rename:

      • This option renames the selected object with new specified name.

  8. Restore:

    9. This option allows restore versions of s3 objects if versioning is set on s3 bucket.

  9. Export to CSV:

    10. This option allows you to export details (Name, Size, Etag, Last Modified date) of selected object(s) in CSV Format

  10. Update File's Access Control list:

    11. This option is used for showing and updating the ACL (Access Control List). To grant/ deny permission for particular user simply check-uncheck corresponding checkbox with associated permission. After setting permissions click on "Update ACL" to save the changed permissions.

  11. Update Metadata:

    12. This option displays properties of Bucket and Meta data attributes below in which you can add, remove Metadata and can edit existing Metadata.

  12. Generate web URL:

    13. This option creates different URLs as HTTP, HTTPS, Torrent, and signed URLs.

  13. Select right side to compare:

    14. This option sets selected object to get compared with local files and folders, Compare to option of right click menu of local file and folder gets activated then.

  14. Compare to:

    15. It remains inactivate until you set any local file or folder to compare. When it gets activated you can compare left folder/ file with it, name of file folder also get added as the suffix with the option’s name.

  15. Properties:

    16. This option displays the Meta information like object name, creation date, modified date, content type, content length, Bucket name, request-id etc in case of file. In case of folder it displays Bucket Name, Total Virtual folder, Total files, Size of Folder, Total objects in folder. You can add new metadata and can edit or remove existing metadata which were created by you.
