How to Manage Distribution on Amazon S3 Bucket

A distribution is a link between an Amazon S3 bucket (the origin server) and a domain name (which Amazon CloudFront assigns). You use this new domain name in place of standard Amazon S3 references.

Distribution Listing:

Distribution listing is a feature to see all the created distribution with complete details. From there user can too modified and create new distribution for desired bucket.

For Listing Distribution you need to follow these steps :

  1. Run Bucket Explorer.
  2. Click "Distribution" icon on Bucket table toolbar or you can do same using "Manage Distribution" option on right click menu of any bucket.
  3. It displays the distribution window having list of already created distributions.
  4. In this window you will have number of columns that are "Bucket Name", "Domain Name", "CNAME", "Activate", "Last Modified Date", "Status” and "Comment"
  5. From there you can   create new distribution , update , delete existing distribution , set logging and remove logging on distribution by clicking on corresponding icon of distribution toolbar & refresh distribution list by clicking on Refresh icon.
