How can I update user metadata and after updating is that metadata information accessible by anyone or only by the owner of the object?

You are provided these options to update user metadata or custom headers in Bucket Explorer.

  • Right click option " Update Metadata " on selected S3 file.
  • Right click option " Properties” - > “Update Metadata " on selected S3 file.
  • On object tool bar, click “ Properties ” icon -> “ Update Metadata ”.
  • Right click option " Upload with custom header " on selected local file(s) panel.
  • For batch update, you can choose from Bucket Tool bar Batch Operation -> Update Metadata -> Edit Metadata .
  • Similarly,  you can choose from Object Tool bar Batch Operation -> Update Metadata -> Edit Metadata.

After updating user metadata, anyone who can retrieve the object can also retrieve the metadata for that object.
