Why am I asked for my secret key?

Your secret key is supposed to be secret between you and Amazon. When you enter that key in desktop version of our software, it stays between your machine (where the software is running) and Amazon. We have no way of knowing your secret key. It is only used to communicate between your machine and Amazon, to tell Amazon that you are you. Without communicating the key to Amazon, there is no other way to authenticate you with Amazon.
