Max File Size

What is the max file size that can be uploaded to S3? I read somewhere that it is 5 gigs. If that's the case, is there someway that the software can split larger files into smaller ones before upload (similar to what gsplit does)? I'm asking beacuse I would like to use S3 to store vmware virtual machines.

We don't split the files yet. We have a plan to do that in the next release.
