October Beta (This includes a Version for Mac OS X)

Please remember that this is a beta version and if you are looking for a stable release, you should use the August version available on download page: http://www.bucketexplorer.com/be-download.html

If you have used an earlier version of Bucket Explorer or any other tool, which did not create _$Folder for the folders, you need to click on Tools - create virtual folders for backward compatibility

You can extract the Beta to a different folder and you don't need to overwrite the old production release. That way, you can keep both versions.

We have uploaded another Beta version. This will be the last Beta before we release the final GA release for October.

We also have a Mac release available now (I would call it an alpha release:

1. Download the BucketExplorer.dmg file.
2. Click on the dmg file - it will show BucketExplorer.jar.
3. Click on this BucketExplorer.jar to execute the application.

Following is on the roadmap for October GA version (which is not yet in this Beta:)
1. Improvements in local file system's Tree.
2. Some spelling fixes.
3. Online documentation. At a lot of places now, you will find context specific help links within the application. Those links point to the online documentation. We need to work on that documentation before we call this release a GA release.
4. We have about 200 test cases. This beta has only been tested against the automated unit tests, and we still have to test all other test cases.

Just wondering how things are going with beta usage. Any particular features/functions to (as a user) concentrate on and/or look out for?

I'm currently using august linux version..

Give us 2-3 more days. We are in final rounds of testing the October release. We should be releasing the GA version soon.
