Uploading files to a folder

Postby brian on Fri Sep 21, 2007 10:55 am

Hi,

I love your bucket explorer app! I definitely don't like the way JungleDisk organizes itself. Where or not I get a free license for giving input, I would most definitely purchase your application once you have implemented licensing software.

I'd like to apologize ahead of time if this has already been mentioned! I did a rapid browse of the forum topics and I did not come up with a match.

One thing I noticed is that whenever I open a bucket, go down a few levels into different subdirectories, and then try to upload a file to the subdirectory, it always uploads to the root path of the bucket instead of into that folder. As of now I'm not sure how to upload a new file into a subdirectory unless I delete the entire subdir and reupload it with the new file.

This is definitely not a priority, but it would be nifty if we could use some keyboard shortcuts like F5 to refresh the directory contents.

Anyways, I was testing quite a few Windows apps after being frustrated with JungleDisk and this is by far my favorite one! Thanks for all the effort.

Brian,

Uploading to a subfolder uploads directly to root is by far the ONLY bug report we got since the relase, Aug 15th :) We did not consider this as a bug which requires immediate hot fix. So, we have corrected it and plan to release it in the version, which we have been calling the "sept release" in this forum. There are only 10 days left in Sept.

F5 refresh and other shortcut keys is a good idea. We will just have to make sure that we pick correct keys for the right OS. I don't know what keys are standard for Linux & Mac. So, we will have to do some research on this and it will not make into the Sept version. We will try to add it in the next release though.

Thanks again for your feedback and please submit an email by clicking "contact us" or register on this forum with a valid email id and post a response to this thread to get the license of first GA release.

Thanks
Saurabh

The standard refresh keys across all three platforms are as follows:

Many applications use one or both or all keyboard combinations as valid refresh keys.

F5 -windows
ctrl + R -linux
command(apple) + R -mac

Thanks Saurabh!

I also have some linux servers. I'm not too savvy with non-Windows operating systems, but can the linux version of your software operate through command line?

No, the version that is currently available for public release (2007.08.13) does not operate via command line. We are working on a command line version though.

Closing this tread as "solved". We have added the "keyboard shortcuts" to our list of "ToDos" for next 2 months. It did not make it to Oct release.
